SHAKESPEARE PORTFOLIO

You will produce a blog that communicates that you understand the context of an Elizabethan play you must cover all three areas to compete Units 4 and 12

1.) RESEARCH
You should use the bullet points below help you structure your research.

Background Context – Historical/Social/Cultural
  • Elizabethan England
  • Shakespeare’s life and biography
  • Shakespeare’s London and Elizabethan Theatre audiences
  • Theatres Actors and Acting in Shakespeare’s time
Contemporary Context
  • Performance conditions of contemporary theatre
  • Conceptual Shakespeare
  • Your production

Sources of research should be clearly referenced: Books (title, author, year of publication), internet (link to the site visited).

2.) RECORD OF A CLASSICAL ROLE
You will keep a record of your classical roles by analysing and evaluating your engagement with the rehearsal and performance of the roles you play. Your record should include the following:

·         Research into the play you are performing in.
·         Character profile/s of the character/s you are playing
·         Extracts of annotated text
·         Records of own textual work and character development
·         Records of directors notes and peer feedback
·         Reflections on rehearsal tasks

3.) PRESENTATION
This should be created using all of the ways of presenting information digitally:

  • Written entries
  • Photographs/pictures/sketches
  • Annotated diagrams
  • Annotated text
  • Embedded video links to You tube clips
  • Video diaries
